POSITION TITLE: Events & Communications Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Head of Department: Communications & Marketing
DEPARTMENT: Communications & Marketing

JOB GRADE


JOB PURPOSE
To coordinate the logistical arrangements for events, while supporting broad departments objectives through facilitation and coordination.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB
• Responsible for supporting the communications, marketing and events functions of the team
• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of internal and external events
• Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of event materials and services
• Coordinate social media calendar and content for platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube,
• Create engaging social media content for programmes, and coordinating their content plans to enhance brand presence and engagement on social media
• Assist in scheduling posts, and monitoring interaction
• Assist in the creation and distribution of internal communications materials such as posters, emails and announcements
•Research trends to ensure needs and social injustice issues are proactively identified
•Maintain and grow the Institution’s media database and
•Assist with media relations
• Support the internal communications in the creation and distribution of internal communications materials such as posters, emails, announcements etc., and support Human Capital


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
•Matric
•Bachelor’s degree in communications/marketing/public Relations
•Two (2) to four (4) years’ experience in marketing events/PR/ communications environment
•Fluency in English and an additional South African language
•Understanding of the public relations environment with a strong commitment to social justice
