Isibani Development Partners is a South African-registered NGO, launched in 2011 to become a leading local technical assistance provider, systems strengthening and grants manager for health and social service in Southern Africa. Isibani has been appointed by the National Department of Health to serve as one of the Sub-Recipients (SRs) for the GLOBAL FUND TB/HIV Program in Ekurhuleni (EKU), Kwa Zulu-Natal (KCD) and Kwa Zulu-Natal (UGU)King Cetshwayo (KZN) and Ekurhuleni (Gauteng) districts, from 01 April 2022 to 31 March 2025. Isibani seeks to appoint a Finance officer. The position will be based at head office Pretoria.
Job Overview:
This position is primarily responsible for execution of the daily accounting function in anticipation of internal and external audits, under supervision and guidance of the Finance and Operations Manager. The incumbent will also carry out financial management responsibilities and support program implementation by ensuring that all operational resources are available, including finances.
Accounting & Record Keeping
- Ensure that all EFT Payments are uniquely numbered, filed, and allocated to budget lines
- Capturing and reconciliation of the credit card expenses
- Capturing and reconciliation of the fleet cards petrol expenses
- Review the shared costs schedule and ensure that expenses are correctly allocated, reimbursed and captured in the accounting system.
- Capture all payments in the Pastel Accounting system and perform all reconciliations for review and approval by the Finance Manager
- Processing of all journal entries.
- Prepare for external and internal audits.
- Track all Requests for Information (RFI’s) issued by auditors
- Supply information requested by auditors and assist to resolve auding findings
Financial Management
- Prepare monthly VAT Reports based on closed cashbooks for approval and submission to SARS by the Finance Manager
- Prepare monthly financial reports up to balance sheet.
- Ensure that all transactions are executed in accordance with IFRS
- Ensure that all transactions are aligned and compliant to PFMA and conditions of the grant / funder
- Prepare accruals, payable and commitments based on contracts & purchase order register.
- Identify any deviations from Isibani Policies and/or PFMA and report such deviations to the Finance Manager
- The incumbent must have a diploma in Finance or relevant field.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the accounting field
- At least 2-3 years in an NGO grant funded sector
- The incumbent must demonstrate knowledge of IFRS and PFMA
- Excellent time and deadlines management
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
