JOB TITLE:                           Junior Finance Officer

REPORTING LINE:               Senior Finance Manager & Senior Finance Officer

DIRECT REPORTS:              None

 

Purpose :  support the organisation by working alongside the Senior Finance Manager and Senior Finance Officer.

Activities

Assist Finance Officer 

  1. Create payment requisitions 

  2. Compile and payment documents.

  3. Obtain and follow up on outstanding documents from team and service providers.

Processing  

  1. Capture bank statements 

  2. Capture petty cash transactions

  3. Capture supplier invoices

  4. Capture company credit card transactions

  5. Prepare monthly payroll inputs

  6. Maintain financial policies throughout the company

  7. Create reports for organisations we provide fiscal hosting services to

  8. Keep track of the accounts payable and receivables age analysis

Compile reconciliations and reports 

  1. Monthly reconciliation of all Bank accounts 

  2. Creditors reconciliations 

  3. Petty Cash reconciliation 

  4. Credit Card Reconciliations

Filing  

  1. File finance documents 

  2. Ensure that all invoices have been stamped PAID before scanning 

  3. Scan all finance documents and save on the shared drive

  4. Ensure that the required supporting documents are attached 

Assist with Audit preparation and queries  

  1. Check and scan documents required for the annual statutory audit 

  2. Assist Finance Officer and Senior Finance Manager with documents required to resolve audit queries. 

 

Required Skills:

  1. Minimum completed accounting degree or diploma from accredited institution of higher learning 

  2. Independent, motivated self -starter and goal orientated 

  3. Strong sense of urgency and dynamic problem solver

  4. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
