bumb’INGOMSO is a multi-faceted HIV Prevention project which aims to half the incidence of HIV in adolescent girls and young women aged 15 – 29 in the Buffalo City Metro Municipality. This is an initiative of the National Department of Health, funded by the German KFW Development Bank and co-funded by the DG Murray Trust. bumb’INGOMSO’s objectives are to: create a positive change in risky behavior; promote accessible health services for young people; respond effectively to gender-based violence; enable access to economic opportunities for young people; focus on high-risk groups and shape equal gender norms among 10–14-year-old girls and boys.   

Position: Programme Co-ordinator (indefinite contract)

Reports to: Project Director

Position responsibilities:   

Key  responsibilities   

  1. Coordinate, plan, implement, and monitor project activities emanating from BI strategic and operations meetings.   
  2. Provide technical expertise in the implementation and design of the project.
  3. Plan and coordinate activities that promote integration through all BI projects, specifically BI clubs, and work conducted in schools by various interventions.   
  4. Facilitate the development of work plans and compile a consolidated BI work plan.
  5. Facilitate quarterly performance reviews and Operational meetings.
  6. Conduct site visits to intervention’s events and campaigns
  7. Ensure integrated planning amongst and with the partners and guide the implementation of the work plans and activities.
  8. Support the development of Annual Plans
  9. Coordinate and oversee the BI master trainers. 
  10. Coordinate and oversee and monitor the review and implementation of the BI club guide package.   
  11. Document lessons learned, sound practices, and success stories. 
  12. Involved in report writing and project stakeholder meetings.
  13. Represent BI in government departments and municipal/district meetings including ECAC meetings.
  14. Perform other project-related responsibilities as the Project Director may assign.
