We are looking for a full time small grants administrator to support the Umncedi project team with the administration of grants to early learning programmes in South Africa.
The Context
South Africa has over 42 000 early learning programmes, which are independent organisations that care for and support the development of young children, who are usually between the ages of 0-6. The DG Murray Trust and Umncedi are committed to supporting these organisations to deliver quality care for young children, and to ensure that they can do so sustainably. For this reason, we provide 400 small grants annually to early learning programmes across the country.
Role
We are seeking a dedicated Small Grants Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the grants process for early learning programmes in South Africa. Key responsibilities include
- Supporting communication to applicants,
- Reviewing application and compiling applications for approval,
- Reviewing submitted documentation and gathering reports from applicants .
This role involves collaboration with the Umncedi team who are committed to helping early learning programmes deliver quality programmes to young children.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree
- Demonstrated ability to provide telephonic and e-mail support (experience in call centre or client relations is advantageous).
- Experience in administration managing e-mail and compiling information on excel.
Advantageous
- Ability to speak one or more African languages
- Knowledge of early childhood development centres/early learning programmes.
- Experience in call centre or with client relations
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience managing communication
