Pact, an international NGO based in Pretoria, seeks to employ a Social Work Project Coordinator to support its USAID Funded ACHIEVE project.

 

Social Work Project Coordinator – Limpopo 

The Social Work Programme Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the National Technical Lead in coordinating working relationship with Limpopo Department of Social Development in support of the implementation of interventions under the ACHIEVE Project.  The Coordinator will further provide direct support to ACHIEVE Social Workers and Social Auxiliary Workers to ensure that programme targets and priorities are successfully implemented. 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Actively participates in the management and oversight of the design, planning and implementation of ACHIEVE Project activities within allocated district

  2. Provides inputs into the development of a detailed provincial and district specific workplan and schedule of deliverable in line with provincial priorities and priorities within the ACHIEVE Project workplan

  3. Facilitate a working relationship with key DSD provincial personnel in support of the implementation of ACHIEVE Project workplan.

  4. Support the National Programme Manager in oversight of district implementation by coordinating the development and actioning of district specific work plans focusing on reaching ACHIEVE Project targets

  5. To facilitate weekly individual and monthly group sessions to support, oversee and assist social workers with challenges and task within the district work plan. 

  6. Ensure that the following activities under the ACHIEVE Project work plan are addressed:

    1. Capacity support for NPOs

    2. Case Management interventions across both service points and NPOs

    3. Implementation of the PEI Core Package of Services

    4. Implementation of Child Protection Interventions

    5. Development of partnerships and active referrals for HTS

    6. Roll out of HTS training including HIV disclosure and adherence support 

    7. Roll out of Social Behavior Change programme

    8. Activation of foster care caseloads

  7. Support in planning and roll out of ACHIEVE Projectdata collection processes

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work;

  • 3 years of relevant experience in social work; within the child protection sector would be preferable

  • Previous experience working with or within the South African Government, preferably at DSD or similar agency is preferable;

  • Fully computer literate

  • Must be fluent in English and any local indigenous South African languages;

  • Must be registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals;

  • Should be in possession of a valid driver’s license and own car
