Give a Child a Family (GCF) is a registered Child Protection Organisation, Non-Profit Organisation and Public Benefit Organisation that was established in 1992 in Margate, on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
GCF acknowledges that various stakeholders play a role in providing an effective Child Protection System and that holistic services should be available to orphaned and vulnerable children and families at risk.
For the past 25 years, we have developed and implemented Child Protection Services and have ensured that children are safe and secure, wherever they are.
Programmes implemented include:
INTEGRATED CHILD PROTECTION SERVICES
GCF Child Protection Services is a community service for Early Intervention and Prevention programmes, focusing on empowering children, women, youth and families. Here GCF aims to PROTECT, PROVIDE AND PROMOTE Family Strengthening, Adoption, Family & Foster Care, Protective Behaviours, and Child & Youth Protection.
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES
GCF Development and Training – “Unlocking African Potential”. GCF recognizes that within every African, there is great problem-solving potential. The process just needs to be DEFINED, DEVELOPED and DEMONSTRATED via mentorship and relationships. Training is provided in Good Governance, Organisational Capacity Building, Training of Trainers, Social Community Dialogues, Social Justice and CPD Training for Social Service Practitioners.
TEMPORARY SAFE CARE
GCF Temporary Safe Care is for orphaned, abused, neglected and abandoned children. This is where GCF aims to RESCUE, RESTORE AND REINTEGRATE children back into their own family or a foster family in the community.
