“The Holy Spirit will enable African children to delight in God’s saving grace so they can glorify Him in all things exalt Jesus in the world”
Kids Gospel Ministry (KGM) is a Christian organisation established in 2008 in the township of Tembisa. The organisation’s vision statement is ‘that the Holy Spirit will enable African children to delight in God’s saving grace so they can glorify Him in all things and exalt Jesus in the world.’
KGM hopes that children and the youth will hear the Word of God and by the enabling of the Holy Spirit come to saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. When children become Christians, they are changed, with effects on their families, their schools, their communities and eventually the country. This is spiritually important work which is happening in the township, that children and the youth turn to the Lord in repentance of their sins and have faith in Him who forgives and gives new life.
Throughout the year KGM has had weekly teachings at assemblies, afternoon Bible clubs, Saturday Bible clubs and THBC’s Tembisa Holiday Bible Clubs. KGM has recently begun a Bible study including two of the organisation’s secondary schools.
The challenges are often not with the children, but within systems and lack of organisations within the school structures which impede the work of the Gospel among the children. The opportunities are great, South Africa is one of the countries in the world where teaching of the Word of God has not been shut out or stopped, and therefore it is a wonderful time in history to teach the Bible to the next generation.
When looking back in history, where there has been spiritual revival in a country, the Lord has blessed the land and its people. KGM trusts the Lord who is the great promise keeper and whose Word stands sure and unchanging, can do the same for South Africa.
Changed lives, changed community, changed nation – all to the glory of God.
