Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Fundraising Intern to join our team and support our organization's fundraising efforts. This internship offers valuable experience in the non-profit sector, focusing on donor relations, event planning, and fundraising campaigns. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about fundraising, highly organized, and eager to contribute to our mission. This position is based in Pinetown, KZN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Fundraising Campaigns: Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns, including donor outreach, solicitation strategies, and follow-up communications.
- Donor Relations: Help maintain donor databases, track contributions, and send acknowledgments and thank-you notes to donors.
- Event Coordination: Assist in organizing fundraising events, including logistics coordination, outreach to sponsors and vendors, and on-site event support.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research on potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities. Prepare summaries and reports to support fundraising strategies.
- Communication: Assist in creating content for fundraising materials, including social media posts, newsletters, and email campaigns.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the fundraising team, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Current enrolment in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program, or recent graduate with a degree in Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written communication skills.
Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with all potential stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Passion for nonprofit work and fundraising.
Proficient in English
Duration and Compensation:
This is a full-time fixed-term internship contract for (6 months).
