PAEDIATRIC ADOLESCENT TREATMENT AFRICA   (PATA) is an organization working in the field of healthcare, has a presence in 23, and runs projects in 12 African countries to provide technical support, people-centred care, and treatment specifically in the care of Paediatric and Adolescents with HIV/Aids.   The organization is focused on network development in the next 6 years and thus is aiming to develop learning, increased investments in frontline healthcare, and the empowerment of healthcare workers as influential change-makers and champions to end AIDS by 2030.

Reporting to the Executive Director, and as a member of the Strategic Management Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth of the network and elevating the organisation’s profile in line with the objectives and within the scope of expansion through new networks and though leaders.   Your duties will include oversight of Communications, Linking and Learning team, as well as working closely with the technical/ programming and M&E teams. 

Key responsibilities:

LEADERSHIP

  • Lead the development of the Network building strategy on how to deepen representation and influence
  • Explore new strategies on facilitating active participation of network members in line with current activities
  • Grow a strong cadre of Frontline Healthcare Provider Champions, who are supported and capacitated to represent the network in global, regional and national working groups, and identify opportunities and linkage for them to voice their perspectives, and to showcase success and less successful experiences.
  • Provide strategic support within Management team to realise the 2024-2030 Strategy, and align with building capacity in core strategic areas and operations.
  • Oversee the work of external consultants and suppliers when required. 

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY

  • Strengthen and expand the Linking and Learning platforms, processes and related knowledge sharing opportunities to the current network. 
  • Develop and enhance the existing online Linking and Learning Hub to be more interactive and responsive.
  • Oversee the delivery of Linking and Learning Events, Annual Statements and in-country forums, team accountability, and drive the design, data gathering and operational aspects. 

ADVOCACY and COMMUNICATIONS

  •   Lead development and implementation of the advocacy and communications strategy, and lead the crafting of key messaging that represents the voice of the network.
  • Provide direction and strengthening of organizational branding, marketing, communications, and digital content to advance organizational visibility and profile.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Masters degree in public health or related social science field. 
  • At least 8 years of experience of network building, linking and learning and advocacy In the non-profit health sector
  • Proven senior management experience in managing strategy and supporting organizational development – Project management expertise, building partnerships and engaging stakeholders, managing staff and service providers. 
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining on-line learning platforms, active communities of practice, events and trainings, with knowledge of IT applications to support on-line engagement and training. 
  • Experience in capacity strengthening and training of heathcare providers and community based or led organisations.
  • Experience in developing easily comprehensible and culturally relevant training materials for healthcare providers (print and on-line) using plain and readily understandable language. 
  • Knowledge in HIV programming with particular knowledge in delivery of child and adolescent focused programming across the HIV cascade.
  • Experience in building and managing partnerships with Government, NGO’s and other relevant stakeholders. 
  • Regional work experience in Africa.
