EMPLOYMENT TYPE:            Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2026

 

 

Isibani Development Partners is a South African-registered NGO, launched in 2011 to become a leading local technical assistance provider, systems strengthening and grants manager for health and social service in Southern Africa. Isibani is appointed by the National Department of Health to serve as one of the Sub-Recipients (SRs) for the GLOBAL FUND TB/HIV Program (GC7) in Ekurhuleni district (Gauteng Province), King Cetshwayo and UGU health districts (Kwa-Zulu Natal Province), from 01 October 2025 to 31 March 2028.  Isibani seeks to appoint Enrolled Nurse to be based at Ekurhuleni District.

Job Overview:

The enrolled nurse will facilitate linkage to care, adherence counselling and support, pharmacovigilance, contact screening, retention in care and accessing new treatment regimens. The enrolled nurses will be based at various Primary Health Care Facilities and Hospitals within the sub-districts.

Requirements & Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Good understanding of HIV, TB programs.
  • Team leader and team player.
  • Awareness of HAST related policies.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, conflict management and negotiation skills.
  • Previous experience within a primary health care environment.
  • Knowledge of TB case management.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 with 2 Years certification as enrolled nurse.
  • Registration with the SANC as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in HAST program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate in English and isizulu/Sotho.
  • Valid driver’s License is preferred.
  • Proof of residence (Municipality Bill).
  • Clear criminal record
Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Strengthen and support active TB case finding.
  • Support pharmacovigilance activities.
  • Work closely with facilities to establish community - based structures that will create demand for HIV/TB screening, care and treatment.
  • Coordinate activities with health facilities to ensure that clients referred from the community receive the continuum of care.
  • Support the community mobilization activities, including mobile outreach activities for HIV/TB prevention, care and treatment services.
  • Employ appropriate messaging to trigger demand-driven TB case finding and provision of treatment of Latent TB Infection (LTBI).
  • Screen and collect sputum for diagnostic purposes.
  • Facilitate the Up-down referral and Linkage of TB patients between community and facilities.
  • Ensure TB patients on treatments attend appointments.
  • Report to facility Manager on patients screened, diagnosed, linked to care and visited.
  • Update and record patient’s information in standardized registers.
  • Compile weekly reports to the facility manager.
