Terms & Conditions

By using NGO Pulse, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully β€” they outline your rights, responsibilities, and the guidelines governing your use of our platform.

Effective as of July 4, 2026

Welcome to NGO Pulse, a platform operated by SangoNet that connects non-profit organisations, job seekers, and employers across South Africa. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, services, and features. By creating an account, browsing, or otherwise interacting with NGO Pulse, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please discontinue use of the platform immediately.

1 Use of the Platform

NGO Pulse provides a digital space where users may browse job and advertisement listings, apply for opportunities, and manage personal or organisational profiles. You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe upon the rights of others or restrict their use and enjoyment of the platform.

Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to: uploading malicious code, attempting to gain unauthorised access to accounts or systems, scraping content without permission, posting false or misleading information, or using the platform to harass or defraud others.

2 Listings & Content

Employers and organisations are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of any job or advertisement listings they post. NGO Pulse acts as an intermediary and does not endorse, verify, or guarantee the quality, safety, or legitimacy of any listing.

Job seekers and applicants are responsible for the accuracy of their application materials. NGO Pulse is not liable for any decisions made by employers or applicants based on listings or interactions facilitated through the platform.

3 User Accounts

To access certain features, you may be required to create an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access or breach of security.

NGO Pulse reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise harmful behaviour.

4 Payments & Billing

Certain services on NGO Pulse β€” including, but not limited to, subscription plans, job listings, advertisement placements, and premium features β€” require payment. By initiating a payment, you agree to the pricing and billing terms applicable at the time of your transaction.

Manual Payments (EFT / Bank Transfer)
Users may make payments via direct Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) into our designated bank account. An invoice β€” either auto-generated by the platform or issued manually by our team β€” will be provided containing our banking details and a unique reference number. Please ensure that you use the correct reference when making payment to avoid delays in processing. NGO Pulse is not responsible for payments made into incorrect accounts or with missing or incorrect references.

Online Payments (PayFast)
For online transactions, we partner with PayFast, a secure third-party payment gateway, to process subscription payments, job and advertisement listing fees, and other service charges. All online payments are encrypted and processed directly by PayFast β€” NGO Pulse does not store your full credit card or banking details on our servers.

⚠️

Important: It is your responsibility to ensure that payments are made correctly, to the right account, and with the proper reference. NGO Pulse cannot be held liable for payments sent to incorrect beneficiaries or processed with incorrect references. Always verify banking details and invoice information before making a transfer.

Payment Security
We take payment security seriously. All online payments via PayFast are protected by industry-standard encryption and security protocols. Manual EFT payments are processed through South Africa's regulated banking system. We encourage users to keep records of all transactions and to report any suspicious payment requests immediately.

Refunds
Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, subscription fees and listing charges are non-refundable. In the event of a billing error or duplicate payment, please contact our team within 14 days for review.

AI Disclaimer: All AI-generated content, suggestions, and outputs are provided for educational, informational, and assistance purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, AI tools can produce errors, omissions, or content that may not be suitable for your specific circumstances. AI outputs should not be treated as professional, legal, financial, or career advice. Users are strongly encouraged to review, verify, and adapt any AI-generated content before relying on it. NGO Pulse assumes no liability for decisions made based on AI-generated suggestions or content.

6 Service Availability & Changes

NGO Pulse is constantly evolving to better serve our community. We reserve the right to:

  • Add, modify, or remove features, tools, or services at any time, with or without prior notice
  • Adjust pricing for subscriptions, listings, and other paid services β€” any price changes will be communicated before your next billing cycle
  • Temporarily suspend access for scheduled maintenance, updates, or unforeseen technical issues
  • Discontinue certain features or the entire platform if business circumstances require it

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes via email or on-platform announcements. Continued use of NGO Pulse after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of those changes.

7 Intellectual Property

All content, branding, design elements, and underlying code on NGO Pulse are the intellectual property of SangoNet, unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without prior written consent.

8 Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. How we collect, use, and protect your personal information is outlined in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

9 Disclaimer of Warranties

NGO Pulse is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive to maintain a reliable and secure platform, we make no warranties β€” express or implied β€” regarding uptime, error-free operation, or the absence of harmful components.

10 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, SangoNet shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of β€” or inability to use β€” NGO Pulse, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

11 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold SangoNet, its affiliates, and its team members harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

12 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

13 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute relating to these Terms or your use of NGO Pulse shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, the dispute shall be referred to binding arbitration under the rules of the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa (AFSA), held in Johannesburg, with each party bearing its own costs.

14 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in our services, legal obligations, or operational practices. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the effective date noted at the top. Continued use of NGO Pulse after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
