Job Purpose

The Empowering Communities Project Coordinator plays a vital role in implementing and managing sustainable farming and community empowerment initiatives. This position is responsible for monitoring project progress, capturing and analysing data, engaging with community members, and ensuring projects meet their objectives, timelines, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Management
  • Oversee the development and improvement of Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Collate quotes and support procurement processes for new projects.
  • Monitor budgets and ensure adherence to financial plans.
Training & Capacity Building
  • Track the attendance and progress of trainees in sustainable farming programs.
  • Ensure successful completion rates for training courses, identifying challenges and solutions.
Data Collection & Analysis
  • Capture and maintain accurate data from farms, including productivity, training outcomes, and community impact.
  • Monitor and measure the progress of projects, preparing detailed analysis and insights.
Community Engagement
  • Build strong relationships with community members to foster collaboration and trust.
  • Communicate project goals and updates effectively to stakeholders.
Reporting & Communication
  • Draft clear, detailed, and timely reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present progress updates, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to align project objectives.
Skills & Qualifications Essential Skills
  • Data Management: Proficiency in capturing, organizing, and analyzing data.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables effectively.
  • Community Engagement: Experience in working with communities to build trust and drive participation.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in community development, skills development, social outreach or a related field.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation frameworks.

Education & Experience
  • A degree or diploma in Community Development, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
