About This Role
Intern for the Civic Action Hub Programme
DAG seeks to employ an Intern for the Civic Action Hub Programme, based in Cape Town  

The position is a paid internship with a 1-year fixed-term contract, subject to a probation period.  

Start Date: 01 March 2026, or as soon as possible.
Requirements & Qualifications
Educational Qualifications / Experience:

  • Relevant university degree or diploma, such as one of the built environment or human settlements professions (e.g., Urban Planning, Social Development, Human Settlement Development, Social Anthropology, etc.
  • At least two years of training and research experience in the field of housing, social development, land and/or urban development.
  • Knowledge of research and training methodologies and techniques.
  • Knowledge of housing, land, and urban development policy frameworks.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint (intermediate level) and MS Excel (beginner level).
  • Strong management skills, including time, resource, financial, programming, and budgeting.
  • Ability to plan independently and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent English writing skills and effective communication abilities (both written and verbal).
  • Diplomacy, discretion, and confidence in liaising with partners.
  • Creative thinking and ability to use own initiative.
  • Ability to earn the respect and confidence of team members and project partners, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
