Non-Executive Director / Board-Level Opportunity 

Knowledge Pele, on behalf of two Trusts that it manages, is seeking a motivated, dedicated, and experienced individual to serve as an Independent Trustee. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful social impact and sustainable community development in the Northern Cape and Free State provinces, where the Trusts operate.

Scope of Work

As an Independent Trustee, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing strategic oversight and guidance to the Trust
• Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Advocating for the Trust and promoting its mission and values
• Participating in Board decision-making processes and offering constructive input
• Contributing to policy development and review
• Attending approximately three (3) hybrid Board meetings and one (1) in-person Annual General Meeting per year

Candidate Requirements
We are looking for an individual who meets the following criteria:

• Professional qualification and experience in governance, law, finance, or related fields
• A passion for community development and empowerment
• Strong leadership, integrity, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Commitment to the values and mission of the Trust
• Ability to remain impartial and objective in all Trust-related matters
• Willingness to serve on a voluntary (non-remunerated) basis
