PROJECT MANAGER: DIGITAL HEALTH
HST wishes to appoint a Project Manager to provide leadership and co-ordinate processes related to the implementation of digital health information systems, including policy development and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder liaison at all levels including National Department of Health and funders. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the planning, implementation and monitoring of project activities
- Development of project work plans in line with funder requirements
- Attend strategic networking meetings and forums with CDC funders, NDoH, partners and district meetings and solicit feedback from stakeholders
- Project reports are completed and submitted in accordance with work plans, funder contracts and with funder timelines
- Represent the organisation at local, national and international fora as needed
- Design and implement internal work processes to improve systems strengthening processes
- Preparation of annual budgets
- Monitor project expenditure on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Management of contracts and/or sub-recipient grants and budgets
- Provide mentorship and guidance to staff to ensure project deliverables are met
- Comply with financial policies, guidelines and audit standards
- Ensure timely management of project risks and appropriate mitigation strategies
- Manage orientation and training stakeholder requirements at all levels.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in a health related field or computer science.
- Registration with the relevant statutory body, where relevant.
Experience
- At least five years’ experience in project management.
- Development and implementation of information systems.
- Experience working in an NGO environment is recommended.

- Knowledge of public health sector policies and guidelines, district health system, and key South African health policies.

LOCATION
The position is based at the National Department of Health, Pretoria, Midrand, or Johannesburg.
REMUNERATION
A salary package commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications and in line with HST’s Job Grading System will be offered.
