Job Description:

 

We seek a skilled and dedicated individual to fill the Bookkeeper/Operational Manager role. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial records and operational aspects of The Organization, ensuring efficient and effective support for our programs and initiatives.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

   Process and maintain accurate financial accounts and records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

 

   Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for management review.

 

-    Complete statutory returns namely: VAT, PAYE, SARS IRP5 returns, Department of Labour returns etc.

 

-    Prepare Department of Social Development monthly subsidy claims, annual evaluations, business plans and all other financial records required.

 

-    Prepare annual budgets, audits, and annual funding applications.

 

   Oversee day-to-day operational activities to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization.

 

   Coordinate with external stakeholders, including Vendors, Government Departments, Donors, and regulatory bodies.

 

   Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure regulation compliance.

 

   Support fundraising activities and grant management processes.

 

   Provide administrative support to The Director and The Governing Board as required.

 

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

 

   Proven experience as a bookkeeper or financial manager, preferably in the non-profit sector.

 

   Proficiency in accounting software, Pastel and financial management tools.

 

   Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

 

   Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

 

   Knowledge of SUD issues and a passion for making a difference in this field.

 

   Relevant certification or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
