CONTEXT
SANCCOB, a leading organisation dedicated to the conservation of seabirds, is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Resource Developer to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working in the non-profit sector, with a specific focus on fundraising and marketing, and will possess a passion for working with conservation-minded partners. THE POSITION
As a Resource Developer, you will need a clear understanding of SANCCOB’s operations and its mission, vision and strategic objectives. You will be responsible for all aspects of corporate fundraising, including philanthropic advisory entities, and cause-related marketing campaigns, to drive corporate social investment in SANCCOB. Furthermore, you will be responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with high-net-worth individuals to secure financial support and foster long-term partnerships that align with SANCCOB's goals. This position is a critical role, and you will need a strong background in corporate fundraising and stakeholder engagement.
Key Result Areas – OUTPUTS
The Resource Developer will undertake a range of functions, which includes those set out below:
· New business: Acquisition of new philanthropic entities and advisory firms, corporates, and small and medium enterprises (SME’s) to expand the current portfolio.
· Identify, build and nurture connections with new high-net-worth individuals to gain financial support and establish lasting partnerships that align with SANCCOB’s objectives
· Acquire new cause-related-marketing campaign partners and retain existing cause-related marketing campaign partners.
· Manage agreements with cause-related marketing partners and ensure compliance.
· Manage existing philanthropic entities and advisory firms, high-net-worth individuals, corporates, and SMEs to retain the current portfolio.
· Stewardship of all donor groups within portfolio.
· Analyse donor data from the organisation’s information management system (DevMan) to segment, report on, and communicate with all donor groups within portfolio.
· Measure fundraising income against monthly targets and respond/adapt to ensure goals are timeously met.
· Acquire new SANCCOB corporate members and retain existing corporate members.
· Responsible for all progress reports for donor portfolio.
· Responsible for all data capturing of donor portfolio and the issuing of Thank You Letters and s18A certificates to donors within portfolio.
· Maintain relationship and annual membership with Charities Aid Foundation America (or alternative).
· Secure donations in-kind from all donor groups within portfolio and maintain existing relationships.
· Facilitate donor visits of donors within portfolio.
· Design and implement events and campaigns applicable to donor portfolio from concept to final execution, to ensure that they are successful.
· Lead input pertaining to social media, newsletters, and website content with regards to donor portfolio, to ensure successful marketing and to elevate SANCCOB’s brand value and increase awareness and income.
· Work with the Resource Development team to develop a fundraising and marketing strategy and implementation plan and execute accordingly.
· Acquire new partnership opportunities with potential ambassadors/influencers and collaborate on initiatives that align with the organisation’s goals.
· Manage agreements with ambassadors/influencers and ensure compliance.
· Any other tasks necessary for the conduct of the employer's business, as the employer may from time to time direct.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
The successful candidate will need the following:
- Proven experience in fundraising and marketing, within the non-profit sector or related industries.
- A deep passion for conservation, particularly seabird protection.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling written and verbal narratives that inspire donors and partners.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of an organisation and with diverse stakeholders.
- Creative and innovative, with the ability to develop new fundraising and marketing strategies.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- A strong team player, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Able to cope under pressure and manage personal stress effectively, ensuring consistent performance even in challenging situations.
- Experience handling confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Be self-motivated and proactive, with a focus on achieving goals and driving results.
- Experience with donor management software and CRM systems is an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Matric certificate.
- Degree or equivalent in Marketing or Fundraising is advantageous.
- At least 5 years’ experience in NGO/NPO fundraising and marketing.
- Experience with corporate fundraising is essential.
- Ability to be responsible and accountable for financial targets.
- Microsoft Office Suite and CANVA or any other funding proposal development software.
- Advanced writing, reporting and presentation skills.
- Understanding of donor database systems.
- Driver’s license and own transport.
