About the Role
Working closely with the organization's executive leadership, this role is responsible for the finance and shared service department. This includes managing budgets, forecasting, financial reporting, and audits. You will oversee the day-to-day financial operations, handle procurement, streamline IT services, and ensure compliance with regulations. You’ll lead a small team, help set up efficient processes, and work closely with the executive team to plan and manage resources effectively. You will help to ensure that JumpStart’s finances are well managed, necessary controls are in place across the organisation, and that shared service functions run smoothly in support of our programme implementation.
Key Responsibilities
● Financial Strategy & Management: Lead financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure alignment with JumpStart’s goals.
● Compliance & Audit Oversight: Manage audits and ensure full regulatory compliance, including payroll and statutory submissions.
● Shared Services Management: Oversee procurement, IT, and process improvement initiatives.
● Team Leadership & Development: Guide and support the finance and shared services team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture.
● Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks, maintain compliance dashboard to safeguard JumpStart’s assets.
Job Qualifications & Experience
Minimum qualifications & experience
● 5 years in managerial or senior positions
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or equivalent experience)
Advantageous
● CA, CIMA or equivalent
● Shared Services Experience
● Completed articles in audit firm
● Experience in the Impact or NGO sector
● EE preferences - Black male, Coloured male, or Indian male candidate

● Local regulatory knowledge
● Technical Accounting knowledge
● Proficiency in financial software
● IT savvy, including advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Google Suite, productivity tools, and workflows

● Strong communicator, both verbally and written
