The Community Chest of the Western Cape is inviting qualified and experienced Insurance and Service Providers to quote their insurance services. 

 

BACKGROUND TO THE COMMUNITY CHEST OF THE WESTERN CAPE (CCWC)

Community Chest is a strategic social investment agency with 96 years’ experience in the non-profit and development sector. Our organisation remains committed to supporting and building the NPO sector by promoting active citizenship, with the goal of helping individuals and families reach their full potential.

We focus on the four key areas of Health, Education, Income Generation, and Community Development. By prioritising these areas, we aim to inspire citizens to be engaged, active, impactful and drive social change.

We operate in all provinces across South Africa and work with beneficiary organisations to expand our reach across the sector and in all regions. The Community Chest has a strong presence within the civil society and development sector. We take pride in building strong partnerships with government, the private sector, and NGOs, which enhances our strategic model and helps us implement our work more effectively.

If your business offers the goods or services as listed below, and if you believe that your expertise could contribute to our mission, refer to the Terms of Reference Criteria, Requirements and Evaluation Process as outlined below. The criteria and requirements are crucial for ensuring the reliability and suitability of our suppliers.

 

Terms of Reference

The broad scope of this EOI is to provide insurance quotes for the following products:

  1. Commercial Insurance

  2. Directors & Officers cover 

  3. Events / Public Liability cover

 

The service will be provided for a period of 5 years before being reviewed.

Process and Considerations

Deadline for expressions of interest is 19 March 2024 at 12h00. Community Chest will have perused all documents received by 20 March 2024. The outcome of the process will be communicated to all applicants by 26 March 2024

Criteria:

  • Must be a South African Registered Entity/Body.

  • Must have a valid B-BBEE Certificate/Affidavit.

  • Must have a South African Registered Business Bank Account.

  • Must have a registered business premises.

  • Must be in operation for a minimum of 2 years.

 

Requirements:

  • Company profile with list of goods/services offered

  • Quote for goods/services provided

  • Proof of Business Registration and submission of compliance with CIPC.

  • Certified copy of Proof of Address (Utility Bill/Bank Statement). Preference will be given to entities based in the Western Cape.

  • Valid Tax Clearance Certificate (Issued by SARS)

  • Valid B-BBEE Verification Certificate/Affidavit.

  • Confirmation of Banking Details/Valid Bank Statement (Issued by the bank and not older than 3 months).

  • VAT Registration Certificate (if applicable).

  • Two (2) years’ annual financial statements

  •  List of 3 client references. 

 

Evaluation Criteria:

Suppliers will be assessed in the following areas:

  • Pricing

  • Organizational registration validity.

  • Location

  • Statutory Compliance

  • BEE Status

  • Supplier track record

  • Submission of all requested documents

 

Please ensure that your submission includes all the required documentation and information by 20 March 2024. Late submissions will not be considered.

 

Selected Suppliers may be required to re-submit documentation on an annual basis to be considered for renewal/continuation of services.
