Finance Co-ordinator

Positive Vibes Trust (PV) is an organisation working nationally & internationally. Our work centres around the themes of development, human rights, health and change, making concrete contributions to ending othering. 

PV seeks to appoint an experienced and skilled Finance Co-ordinator to be based in South Africa.  This is a 75% position – with an initial 12-month contract. The Finance Manager play a key role in ensuring the provision of accurate and comprehensive financial information to organizational leadership for effective financial management. Additionally, this role is pivotal in maintaining the organization's financial compliance with donor and statutory regulations.

Key areas of responsibility will include: 

1. Organizational Support:
   1. Oversee monthly recordkeeping in Sage Online for completeness and accuracy.

   2. Compile monthly management accounts and ensure precision in accounting information.

   3. Develop the annual organizational budget and create ad-hoc tracking spreadsheets as required.

2. Project Support

3. Compile and review monthly internal project reports with Project Managers.

4. Review donor reports crafted by project accountants and prepare additional donor reports as required.

5. Coordinate financial aspects of donor due diligence and review project contracts for alignment with PV's internal systems.

6. Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure comprehensive understanding of project activities and budget projections.

7. Audit and Compliance

8. Oversee organizational audit process and ensure compliance with established guidelines and standards.

9. Ensure timely completion of project audits within specified deadlines and according to donor requirements.

10. Prepare all necessary reports and schedules required for the audit process, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Applicants should possess: 

1. Degree in Financial Accounting or Management Accounting.

2. At least 10 years' experience as a finance co-ordinator or equivalent in medium-sized businesses or non-profit organizations.

3. Previous experience supervising a team of at least 3 people.

4. Experience working with and sensitivity for Key Populations is preferred.

5. Experience with Sage online advantageous.

6. Advanced Excel knowledge is critical.

7. Valid driver's license
