Assistant Director: Quantitative Analyst (Affordable Medicines Directorate)

Nexia SAB&T seeks to appoint a dynamic individual to support the health product value chain requirements by using business and market analysis in order to improve data governance, including forecasting and big data analytics within the National Department of Health on a fixed term contract in Pretoria. 

 

Responsibilities & Duties 

 

  1. Development and management of pharmaceutical tender forecasting. 
  2. Development of contracting close-out reports. 
  3. Conduct data acquisition and governance for medicine use analysis purposes. 
  4. Institutionalisation of National Surveillance Centre. 
  5. Risk management. 

 

Qualification, Skills, Competencies & Experience: 

 

  1. A minimum qualification of a three year bachelor’s degree/ national diploma in information or computer sciences/ mathematics or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification. 
  2. Proficiency in statistics, forecasting and planning methods with an understanding of their operational impacts.  
  3. Good understanding of big data techniques 
  4. Knowledge of master data management protocols and techniques. 
  5. Knowledge of industry standards, legislation and best practice relating to information and communication technologies. 
  6. Shortlisted candidates to demonstrate the following skills, amongst others: 
  7. Programming e.g. SQL. 
  8. Excellent quantitative skills 
  9. Proficiency in data-mining and visual analytics Risk management. 
  10. Communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate technical content to non-technical staff. 
  11. Planning, organisational and administrative skills. 
  12. Computer literacy, including full Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.). 
  13. Ability to work independently and function as part of a broader team. 
  14. Possession of a patient-centred, proactive approach to problem-solving.
