About Me

Gilimane Busisiwe is a dedicated Social Worker with Passion in making a positive impact in individuals and communities. Busisiwe has over 4 years of experience in the Social Work field, She have deep understanding of community work which includes Facilitating community awareness programs, Community dialogues, Door to door HIV testing, Facilitating Skills to care trainings and  Regular Household Visits.

She received er Social Work Degree in 2019 from the University of Forthare were she gain strong theoretical foundation in Social Work principles, Values and Practices. Over the years she have been developing herself by doing short course online and training and some of the training are HIV testing, Introduction to excel, First Responder, Mental health kit etc.

Busisiwe has worked in various Setting, including non-profit organisation, community centres and Schools. Busisiwe has worked with diverse population  which includes, Children, Adolescents, at Risk youth, Adults and people with disabilities in many different community settings which includes Rural Area, urban areas, Informal Settlements and Farms.

over the years Busisiwe has presented her self to be a very empathetic person , she has amazing listening skill, she is goal driven and a team player, trustworthy and her work aften involves  Conducting assessment, individual counselling, door to door HIV testing, pre and post HIV counselling, Adherence support, Linkages to care, Identifying cases of neglect and refer them to relevant stakeholders, advocating for children's rights, Facilitating trainings for community, caregivers and adolescents, just to include few.

As a social worker Busisiwe strongly believe that everyone deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and strives to make a meaningful impact in the lives of all the people that i Serve.

Duties: Identification of children and households in need of care and protection.
• Conduct regular household and school visits.
• Provision of counselling services and pre and post HIV counselling in the household.
• Provision of HIV Testing Services
• Linkage to care and Treatment
• Treatment Adherence support
• Family strengthening, psychosocial support and other support service.
• Support the acquisition of social grants and other enabling documents such as identity cards and birth certificates.
• Facilitating Life skills Group Work Program at Jikauluntu after school centre
• Planning and Facilitation of Afterschool program/homework at Jikauluntu Community centre.
• Provides referrals of clients to services where necessary.
• Conduct timely follow up of clients to ensure referred services have been provided.
