FINANCE MANAGER

The Association for Educational Transformation (ASSET), a small non-profit NGO based in Mowbray, Cape Town seeks an experienced senior bookkeeper/accountant to manage the finances of a small NGO. The Finance Manager is responsible for the accounting, reporting, budget and internal control functions of the organisation in accordance with Accounting Standards and ASSET’s policies and procedures.

Required qualifications and skills:

commitment to the values of the organisation and a passion for education;
an accounting qualification, such as ACIS, or a B.Com. with an Accounting major;
at least 5 years’ experience at a senior level, preferably working with donor money;
strong computer skills and knowledge of Pastel;
attention to detail and ability to solve problems;
organised in time management and record keeping;
an ability to work independently;
excellent written and oral communication skills.
