The B.E.A.R. Foundation is a non-profit organisation based in Diepsloot. We are passionately committed to enhancing life opportunities and the transforming in the mindset of the youth. Our belief system is founded on the principles of Boldness, Affirming Empowerment, and Revival and thus, our name. In our pursuit of these ideals, we have been instrumental in enabling countless young individuals to not only stay in school but to triumphantly complete their academic journeys. Our organisation serves as a staunch advocate, consistently raising the alarm on the perils of risky behaviors that threaten the growth and jeopardize the attainment of a bright future for the youth we serve. With over 10 years of existence, the B.E.A.R. Foundation has dedicated itself to tangible impact. 

Key Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Participating in strategic planning
  • Participate in technical guidance based on field of expertise
  • Guiding and expertise advice
  • Input on financial frameworks and decisions
  • Provide networks for possible fundraising
  • Support fundraising efforts
  • Contribute to the growth and sustainability of the foundation
  • Contribute to the sustained impact and service to communities in need
  • Be available to mentor and coach in various projects

The ideal candidate has the following attributes:

  • Accomplished professional in their field
  • A true team player with a sound emotional quotient (EQ)
  • Sound experience in their field, demonstrated by leadership experience over time
  • Adequately qualified in line with the SAQA framework
  • Sound knowledge of the NGO and NPO space
  • Passionate about youth issues, particularly their empowerment, training, development, and leadership
  • Interested in enhancing their leadership and board membership abilities.
