Logwood Village is a residential care facility for adults with intellectual disabilities. We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and committed Registered Nurse to join and make a positive impact in the mental health field within our organization.
Position: Registered Nurse
Location: Muldersdrift, WestRand
Employment: 3X a week (being on call for any emergencies at night and on weekends)
Job description
As a Registered Nurse at Logwood Village, you will play a vital role in delivering high quality patient care. Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Providing direct primary health care to 105 residents
- Medication packing and administration.
- Documenting patient information and maintaining adequate medical records.
- Implementing the individual patient care plans.
- Training care facilitators on the health care plan and the implementation thereof
- Monitoring of patients and ensuring comfort and safety.
- Collaborating with other health care facilities through patient referrals, ordering of medication, and follow ups on admitted patients.
- Supervising 2 enrolled nurses
- Liaising with parents about all medical issues concerning the residents, medication, medication scripts, etc.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse license
- Experience in psychiatry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy
- Good administrative skills
- A strong commitment to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast and efficient manner within a multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a police clearance certificate.
