Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping:
1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
2. Record all financial transactions, including income, expenses, and bank transactions.
Budgeting:
1. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets in collaboration with relevant departments.
2. Monitor budget performance and provide regular reports to management.
Financial Reporting:
1. Generate and analyze financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
2. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Compliance:
1. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
2. Prepare and submit necessary tax documents and reports.
Grants and Funding:
1. Track and manage funds received through grants and donations.
2. Prepare financial reports required by grantors.
Auditing:
1. Assist in the coordination of annual financial audits.
2. Provide necessary documentation and information to auditors.
Cash Management:
1. Manage cash flow and ensure funds are available for day-to-day operations.
2. Reconcile bank statements regularly.
Payroll:
1. Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
2. Ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
Financial Analysis:
1. Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making.
2. Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
Internal Controls:
1. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
2. Recommend improvements to internal control processes.
Collaboration:
1. Work closely with other departments to provide financial information and support their financial needs.
2. Collaborate with the executive team to make strategic financial decisions.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
· 3 years proven experience as an accountant, preferably in an NGO or non-profit environment.
· Familiarity with accounting software and financial management systems.
· Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
