Prevention and Outpatient Clinic Manager
SANCA DURBAN ALCOHOL AND DRUG CENTRES is a leading non-governmental organization dedicated to addressing substance use disorders across 16 Magisterial Districts in the eThekwini North, South and iLembe Regions. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Prevention and Outpatient Clinic Manager to join our team and contribute to our mission of creating a healthier and addiction-free community.
Responsibilities:
Prevention Services
- Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based prevention programs and initiatives to address substance use disorders and related issues in the community.
- Coordinate and collaborate with local stakeholders, including schools, community organizations, and government agencies, to promote prevention strategies and ensure effective implementation.
- Develop and deliver training programs on substance use prevention to community members, educators, companies and other professionals.
- Monitor program outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of prevention activities through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- and submit monthly and quarterly, annual reports, non-financial data, annual evaluations, and business plans to the Department of Social Development.
- Implement and monitor projects that have been funded by donors and against program deliverables.
- Collaborate with other departments within the organization to integrate prevention efforts with treatment and recovery services.
- Ensure the management and planning of therapeutic services is undertaken in a systematic and organized manner.
- Provision of treatment and counselling services to chemically dependent people, and their families, within the Organisation's area of operation.
- Conduct weekly case discussions and staff meetings.
- - Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring and appraisals to a team of prevention specialists, ensuring their professional development and adherence to program objectives.
- In consultation with the Director, assist with the implementation of any formal disciplinary procedures about staff when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of substance use disorders, preferably in an NGO or community-based setting.
- Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions.
- Have a current Police Clearance Certificate.
- Have a clearance certificate for the Child Protection Register.
- Drivers Licence
- Strong knowledge of substance use disorders, prevention strategies, and evidence-based interventions.
- Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate and build partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Passion for promoting mental health and addiction prevention.
