About Company

Founded in 2011, Transitions Foundation works to improve the performance of young people across the spectrum of educational needs. We recognise that young South Africans face a myriad of challenges as they try to transition their way through school, and we aim to facilitate these transitions by helping them overcome the obstacles that lie between hardship and happiness. Through our Saturday school programmes, Transitions traditionally provides tutoring and mentoring, and master classes with some of the country’s most talented young people. Over the last two years, our program has grown and needs a more hands-on resource on the ground. We currently run two programs across grades 9 to grade 12:

  • Lives and Minds in Transition - A 10-week Summer and 10-week Winter academic support
programme for grade 10 to grade 12 learners.
  • OLICO Maths Programme – Grade 8 and 9 Maths-focused online programmes running on
    weekdays and weekends.

We are looking for a Program Coordinator to help us efficiently run the program on the ground while
also managing and interacting with all our stakeholders. The role can be carried from any location around Gauteng on weekdays but 100% on-site on Saturdays.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, will be highly self-motivated, driven, hard-working, passionate about young people and social impact, and be an all-round team player. This role could potentially be filled by someone who holds another job in a related field (e.g., teaching, non-profit management, etc) and has the flexibility to avail themselves of partner and stakeholder meetings during the week when required. The individual should be able to manage their time effectively and be on site for the Saturday programmes. The suitable candidate must also have grant writing/proposal writing experience.

Responsibilities will mainly be to execute, support, and report on the execution of the vision of the
programmes. The candidate will be required to be onsite to support and oversee the running of the
programs every Saturday in the 10 weeks of each season while also supporting the weekly program off-site.
