JPS Africa NPC: Officer Internal Audit Unit

 

JPS Africa NPC, a non-profit organization based in Pretoria, seeks an Internal Audit Officer. The candidate’s main function will be to provide support to the Internal Auditor. The Internal Audit Officer will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Support the Internal Auditor to conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices, and compliance with regulations and policies with the organization and our implementing partners.

 

  • Support the Internal Auditor to execute audit plans, including identification, assessments, monitoring and management of risks and testing procedures.

 

  • Identify internal control weaknesses, operation inefficiencies and areas of improvement. Recommend corrective actions.

 

  • Support the Internal Auditor to document audit findings, conclusions and recommendations in drafting clear and concise internal audit reports.

 

  • Work with departmental heads in implementation of audit recommendations.

 

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.

 

Required qualifications and experience include: 

 

  1. Degree in Accounting / Post Graduate qualification in Risk Management or equivalent qualifications.

 

  1. Qualification in Project Management /Management or equivalent will be an added advantage.   

 

  1. Commitment to continuous learning and development. 

 

  1. At least 3 years successful work experience with an internal audit unit or completed articles with a professional firm.

 

  1. Experience in preparation of BBBEE assessments .

 

  1. Solid Finance and Accounting experience within a donor funded environment (Pepfar, Global Fund, National Treasury, other). 

 

  1. Strong organizational and decision-making skills.

 

  1. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills in English and at least one other South African language.

 

  1. Attention to detail.

 

  1. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within South Africa.

 

The successful applicant will have experience in developing and making professional presentations at high levels required. This position is based in Pretoria.
