Madulammoho Housing Association is a nonprofit social housing institution, which was established in 2004 to provide transitional, communal and Social Rental housing to low income families. Madulammoho (Sesotho for “living together”) is home to more than 2,400 low-income tenants.

 

Based in Cape Town, Madulammoho Housing Association is seeking to fill the position of:

 

MAINTENANCE MANAGER

The Maintenance Manager will manage and coordinate the technical / specialist maintenance related functions to ensure that Madulammoho’s buildings and projects in the Western Cape are effectively and efficiently maintained.

Key responsibilities for the Maintenance Manager will include:

Technical Maintenance

 

  1. Plan, coordinate, and assign activities to the maintenance team. (Prioritize critical items)

  2. Provide input into the development of the reactive and planned maintenance budget.

  3. Co-ordinate department activities with other department activities and or programs, including the scheduling of meetings and the resolving of problems.

  4. Respond to emergencies timeously as needed.

  5. Ensure that health and safety protocols are adhered to.

 

Administration

 

  1. Manage and report on actual expenses vs approved budget.

  2. Prepare reports related to materials and supplies used to complete work.

  3. Ensure an adequate supply of repair and replacement materials.

  4. Report weekly on all critical issues on site.

  5. Inspect and evaluate reporting from supervisor and staff (i.e. timesheets, work orders, etc.

 

Staff Management

 

  1. Build an effective and successful team.

  2. Manage staff disciplinary processes as per labour law requirements.

  3. Address staff issues and concerns.

  4. Performance management of staff

 

The Maintenance Manager must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Minimum of a Grade 12 or NQF 4 is required.

  2. At least 5 years supervisory experience, preferably in a technical maintenance environment.

  3. Basic MS skills are required (Word, Excel and Outlook)

  4. ABET 4 literacy and numeracy
