Job Title:

Campus Care Worker (CCW)

Purpose:

 

This position is campuses based, the incumbent will be responsible for the implementation of HIGHER HEALTH programmes within the institution (TVET and CET).

 

As a Campus Care Worker, you’ll support students (through difficult times), facing challenging situations, assisting them to find solutions to their problems, with the aim of improving their health and wellbeing including their academic performance.

Main Functions: 

  1. Recruitment and supervision of Peer mentors and Peer educators

  2. Provide social support services at campuses as well as linkage to Psychosocial support services.

  3. Coordination and mentorship to learners on the civic and wellness skills programme at Campuses level

  4. Stakeholders Management and Sectoral Coordination

  5.  Data Collection & Reporting

  6.  Communication, Advocacy, and Lobbying 

  7.  Administration

 

Requirements: 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in social work/ social science.

  2. Any other master’s in social science or related qualification will be an added advantage

  3. Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP or Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners(ASCHP). 

  4. Drivers licence added advantage

Experience: 

 

 

 

  1. Basic Knowledge of case management and report writing.

  2. Working with Adolescence and Young People (AYPs).

  3. Experience and knowledge of the Higher Education Sector (Added Advantage)

  4. Experience in data collection and reporting.

  5. Stakeholder management at a local and district level.

  6. Facilitation in Capacity Development and Skills Training.

  7. Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office Package)

  8. Stakeholder management, engagement, communication, and networking
