Family Strengthening Coordinator
Free State
Position Description: The Family Strengthening Coordinator will be based in the Free State and will oversee the daily implementation of Family Strengthening activities. This role involves coordinating these activities in alignment with the workplan to ensure fidelity in execution and achievement of targets. The coordinator will provide support and supervision to Family Strengthening Field Officers in districts where Pact delivers direct services and will also coordinate activities in areas where implementing partners are responsible for service delivery. The coordinator will report directly to the Deputy Director of DREAMS.
Minimum Key Responsibilities and duties:
Management
- Provide leadership and oversight for the Let's Talk program in selected provinces.
- Coordinate in-service training for Family Strengthening Field Officers and Facilitators.
- Strengthen the delivery of the Family Strengthening program, ensuring all activities align with the work plan.
- In collaboration with the Deputy Director, develop and coordinate detailed provincial and district-specific session schedules, aligned with the priorities of the Department of Education.
- Engage with referral partners to ensure a steady flow of participant referrals into the program, maintaining regular communication to meet referral targets and ensure efficient service delivery.
- Proactively monitor progress towards completion and target achievement, addressing issues and implementing corrective actions as needed based on provincial and district-specific work plans.
- Manage staff performance in accordance with key performance areas (KPAs), ACHIEVE objectives, and Pact's core values.
- Oversee administrative processes, including personnel tracking for timesheets, monthly reports, travel requests, and trip reports.
- Prepare and submit monthly, semi-annual, and annual narrative program performance reports to the supervisor as required.
- Deliver presentations to various stakeholders upon request.
Interdepartmental coordination, collaboration and integration
- Facilitate regular program meetings and joint activities with MEL to ensure program cohesion and attainment of targets
- Coordinate and conduct quarterly programme reviews (Field Officers/Facilitators and MEL) to ensure that interventions are aligned with workplan, all team members clearly understand their roles and expectations and targets are met.
- Coordinate feedback sessions with the Deputy Director
Partnership management and oversight
- Promotes the programme through advocacy, presentations, and participation in provincial and district technical forums.
- Manage partnerships to ensure effective implementation of the Family Strengthening program.
- Identify and troubleshoot program challenges, implementing innovative solutions to ensure smooth and successful program delivery .
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in development, Social Sciences or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, including 2 years of management experience.
- Experience facilitating HIV prevention interventions including family strengthening curriculums (Let’s Talk, Sinovuyo, Families Matter), is an added advantage.
