Role description

Support the efficient and effective functioning of NACOSA’s USAID funded GBV programme in Gauteng, Sedibeng district by providing expertise as an M&E coordination and supporting the Programme Management Unit administration of the award.

LifeLine Vaal Triangle is a people orientated organization focused on building the well-being of the community and the individual. LifeLine Vaal is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the M&E manager position and be based at our Gauteng, LifeLine Vaal Duncanville Office. The primary focus of this position will be to ensure accurate collection, development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation strategies, systems and tools that will ensure accurate and timely programme data.

The key performance areas of the role are:

  1. Support the M&E function of the grant on multiple levels, including the administrative, technical, and logistical needs of the team 

  2. Provide the Programme Management Unit (PMU) with day-to-day administrative support and assistance (scheduling meetings, taking minutes, etc.)

  3. Assist with the development and implementation of M&E standard operating procedures (filling, record keeping, data validation etc.)

  4. Co-ordinate the workflow and activities of a team of data capturers and data coordinators based at multiple sites

  5. Assist to capacitate the data team in the management of their M&E

  6. Assist with data quality management (extract reports, high light discrepancies, etc.) and provide the relevant feedback to stakeholders

  7. Assist with and co-ordinate regular data validation projects undertaken at site level

  8. Assist with preparation of reports, presentations, and publications of findings for internal (LifeLine staff,) and external (funders, government, members.) audiences

  9. Maintain regular contact with implementation sites throughout the month to check progress on targets

  10. General M&E and co-ordination / administration support for the grant as may be needed from time to time

  11. Conduct implementation sites visit for verifications and support.

  12. Conduct onsite data verification and perform data quality assessments of reported programme data.

  13. Uphold and exemplify LifeLine Vaal, its vision, mission, values and objectives, etc.

  14. Ensure adherence to HR LifeLine policies and procedures 

 

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation/Research/Public Health or related discipline 

  2. Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience within an M&E function, with involvement in general administration

  3. Experience in monitoring and promoting data quality

  4. Experience in capacity development of field staff in M&E and coordinating the work of others

  5. Good computer skills with work experience using data management systems and MS Office 

  6. Attention to detail

  7. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, high stress environment

  8. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with little supervision

  9. Strong planning, time management, problem solving, and project management skills 

  10. Results-oriented, professional, accountable and proactive

  11. Strong interpersonal communication skills 

  12. Proven ability to work as part of a team

  13. Valid drivers’ license, own reliable vehicle and willingness to travel
