Digital Media Officer
Corruption Watch (CW) is a South African non-profit organisation with a twelve-year track record and an accredited chapter of Transparency International. CW’s primary objective is to combat corruption which it does through various strategic initiatives.


Corruption Watch seeks to fill the position of a Digital Media Officer to manage content production and marketing outputs related to the organisation’s digital platforms.


Areas of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Communications, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following
responsibilities:
Moderation and management of social media platforms:
• Moderate discussions, postings and activity on CW’s online platforms in accordance with
the content moderation policy.
• Assume responsibility for creating daily social media content that aligns with organisational
objectives.


Monitoring progress:
• Monitor and measure the success of social media engagement.
• Provide monthly, quarterly and annual reports on quantitative and qualitative data, documenting learning experiences.
• Keep abreast of social media trends.
• Review and report on the effectiveness of the channels and explore new initiatives.


Content development and management of social media channels:
• Produce written content that initiates public engagement and discussion about CW’s work and corruption-related issues on selected digital media platforms.
• Generate infographics and other multi-media to be used on the platforms.
• Contribute to the weekly/daily planning of content.
• Organise and manage social media marketing of online events and other CW activities that take place on different platforms.
• Together with the head of department, create the social media strategy for the organisation and its activities/campaigns.
• Identify useful resources, titles and opportunities to enhance CW’s social media profile.
• Explore new methods, channels and platforms for profiling the organisation. 

Digital and online marketing:
• Keep abreast of digital marketing, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and content marketing trends.
• Plan and execute digital marketing, SEO, social media and advertising campaigns.
• Manage online advertising on Facebook and Google, using Google AdWords and Google analytics, and other relevant sites.
• Measure and report performance of digital marketing campaigns and assess return on investment (ROI).
• Identify trends and insights, optimising spend and performance based on insights and reviews of new tools and innovation.
• Increase knowledge of digital marketing tools, e.g. Google Webmaster Tools / Search Console.


Qualification and Experience
• National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in digital media and marketing studies.
• 3-5 years’ experience in digital media and marketing.
• Digital design skills and aptitude.
• Skills or aptitude for audio-visual content creation.
• Excellent verbal, written and digital communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of key social media platforms and audiences.
• Understanding of social justice/NGO environment.
• Organised and committed to accuracy and quality.
• Ability to coordinate and execute multiple deliverables.
• Strong communication, time management and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent command of English.
• Proficient in MS Office.
