Background:

 

CareWorks’ ePharmacy is a fully virtual online tele-medicine support programme that offers convenient PrEP services to Key Population groups, specifically Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) and Transgender Women. We therefore seek to employ 3 qualified Professional Nurses (NIMART qualified) who will be responsible for providing telephonic clinical support for new and continuing PrEP clients, aligned to strict protocols and guidelines, and tailored at meeting the needs of the MSM and TG clients. The comprehensive package of services available to clients includes HTS, STI screening and PrEP initiation with ongoing patient management support in order to reach the programmes targets.

 

This position is not a facility-based position as the programme provides telephonic tele-medicine support.

 

Inherent requirements of the position:

 

  • South African Nursing Council Registration up to date at all times 

 

  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

 

  • Multi-tasking and ability to adapt well in a changing environment.

 

  • Computer literate in MS Outlook, Word and Excel.

 

  • Multi-language skills with African languages is required.

 

  • Good communication skills.

 

  • Strong attention to detail and great level of accuracy.

 

  • Ability to cope in highly pressurised environment.

 

  • Target driven.

 

  • Postgraduate training in Primary Health Care Nursing or Public Health is highly desirable.

 

  • 5 years' proven experience in working in a primary health care setting.

 

  • Must have extensive experience in HIV, AIDS and STI treatment and care.

 

  • Must have experience in managing clients on PrEP.

 

  • Must have experience in key population programmes, specifically MSM and TG.

 

  • Expert knowledge of South African HIV/AIDS/STI/TB Management guidelines. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

  • Understand implicitly the confidential nature of data and patient management.

 

  • Adherence to all internal and external policies on data handling, processing, sharing and security.

 

  • Know and understand the national PrEP and HTS guidelines.

 

  • Conduct telephonic follow ups with clients registered on the PrEP programme. This includes history taking, risk assessments, providing appropriate and relevant health education, as well as providing psychosocial and clinical counselling.

 

  • Coordinate follow up visits for HTS, delivery of medication to the clients home or work address and logistical follow up throughout the month.

 

  • Any other reasonable company related requests made by senior management.

 

  • General office administration duties as and when required.

 

  • Receive and accurately capture patient information in the system. 

 

  • Collate patient records and ensure regular feedback with the referring partner.
