About Company

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the organization's annual budget in collaboration with program coordinators and the Centre Manager. 

  • Conduct regular financial analyses to provide insights into budget variances and financial performance.

  • Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Financial Management:

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.

  • Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships.

  • Complete the DCC’s monthly bookkeeping to trial balance level, ensuring readiness for annual audits.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting principles and donor requirements.

  • Prepare and submit financial reports to donors, government agencies and other stakeholders as required.

  • Ensure timely submission of payroll and monthly SARS returns (EMP 201 and annual EMP 501 (IRP5’s and IT3a’s) via e-filing).

Grant Management:

  • Work closely with program coordinators to prepare budgets for grant proposals.

  • Monitor and report on the financial performance of grants, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines.

Audit and Internal Controls:

  • Coordinate and facilitate annual external audits.

  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.

  • Manage and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures, updating them as necessary.

Capacity Building:

  • Provide training and support to staff on financial policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Work with program coordinators to build their financial management capacity.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma in Bookkeeping, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).

  • Proven experience in financial management, preferably within an NGO or nonprofit sector.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyse complex financial data.

  • Proficiency in financial management software and MS Office Suite.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
