About Company

 

The Institute for the Healing of Memories is currently seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Part- Time Junior Researcher (3 days a week). 

 

This role is based at IHOM Cape Town Office, located at 5 Eastry Road, Claremont. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documentation/case studies on the impact of programs on individuals and communities.

  • Assisting in field research activities, including data collection and interviews.

  • Writing reports and presentations based on research findings.

  • Collaborating with programs coordinators to achieve the research and documentation goals.

  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, and research discussions.

  • IHOM articles/ Press release.

  • Compiling IHOM articles, remarks, etc into useful material terms to contribute to the knowledge hub.

  • Documentation of the IHOM conferences.

  • Assist to track data from Salesforce system for fundraising and reporting purposes.

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Peace Studies, Conflict Resolution, Social Work or any other related field.

  • Strong research and analytical skills, with experience in qualitative research methods.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (proficiency in other South Africa languages is an advantage).

  • Experience in conducting and managing qualitative data, data collection and data analysis. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent Computer skills. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
